Important Dates

National Aptitude Test in Architecture, 2024(NATA- 2024) for admission into 1st year of 5-year B.Arch. Degree course at all recognized Institutions all over country.for the academic session 2024 shall be conducted by the Council of Architecture (CoA)  in two Sessions in the notified cities at the allotted Centres.

The Council of Architecture (CoA) is the the competent & final authority for the purpose of fixing norms and standards for architectural institutions and having the necessary expertise to hold a Common Aptitude Test in Architecture, at national level to provide a single window system for appearing in aptitude test and to facilitate admission to institutions. The candidates can appear for maximum of 3 attempts in NATA 2024 in one academic year. Candidates who miss out the first test due to some reason or other or wish to improve upon their NATA score can register for the second test. The best score out of all the attempts shall be considered for declaration of results. The score of NATA Test would be valid for a period of 2 academic years.

The actual admissions shall be carried out only by the concerned designated authorities of the respective states/ institutions based on NATA. The NATA also ensures that the eligibility criteria for admission to five-year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree course, as prescribed by CoA and duly approved by the Central Government, are strictly adhered to and followed all over the country.

The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) measures the aptitude of the applicant for specific field of study, i.e. Architecture. The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability that have been acquired over a long period of time, and that are related to specific field of study, i.e. Architecture.

Prospective applicants desirous of taking admission to First year of undergraduate course in Architecture (Bachelor of Architecture) in India take NATA. NATA scores are used by admissions authorities of different Government, Govt. Aided & unaided schools / colleges of Architecture, to provide common measure for comparing the qualifications of applicants, for admission in addition to their scholastic performance in 10+2 or equivalent examination.

Note : The NATA test 2024 shall be held on all Saturdays and Sundays starting from April to July, in two Sessions in the notified cities at the allotted Centres. The registration of each Test shall close 5 days before the exam.

Eligibility

Candidates fulfilling the below criteria prescribed by the Council can appear for NATA 2024

•  Passed or appearing in 10+1 Examination with PCM Subjects.
• Passed or appearing in 10+2 Examination with PCM subjects.
• Passed or appearing in 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as subjects.

However, the admission to B.Arch., Course shall be made as per the eligibility prescribed in the Council of Architecture.
Candidates may note that NATA 2024 is the qualifier Aptitude Test for admission to B.Arch. program offered by Universities / Institutions in the country, subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Council.

Admission to First year of B.Arch. course

Only candidates who have the following credentials shall be eligible for admission to B.Arch. Course.

• Qualified a recognized aptitude test in Architecture (NATA or equivalent)
• Have gone through any of the following curriculum with marks as prescribed below:
  (a) Secured 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects;
  OR
  (b) 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognized by Central/State Govts with 50% aggregate marks with Mathematics; OR
  (c) International Baccalaureate Diploma passed/appearing, after 10 years of Schooling with 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination

No direct lateral admission is allowed at any other year/stage of B.Arch. course based on any qualification.

Application Fee for NATA 2024

Application Procedure

The NATA test shall be held on all Saturdays and Sundays starting from April to July, 2024 in two Sessions in the notified cities at the allotted Centres and the online form filling shall start from
01st March, 2024.

Appearing in second or third test is not mandatory and is purely at the discretion of the applicants. Candidates can register themselves for one test or maximum of three Tests in one academic year by filling in the application form appropriately.

Application is to be filled up ONLINE at the NATA portal of www.nata.in. Candidates need to visit the portal, generate username & password by entering relevant details and then CLICK the requisite link ONLINE APPLICATION NATA–2024. Thereafter, candidate will be directed to the actual application form. The form is interactive in nature and the fields required to be filled up are categorized in different sub-sections. The fields super-scribed with * MUST be filled up as they are MANDATORY, otherwise the application will NOT get submitted.

The application form is broadly categorized into three steps: filling of PERSONAL DETAILS; DOCUMENT UPLOADING & FEE PAYMENT. Please see APPENDIX-III for detailed guidelines on information to be entered at the time of online form filling.

Candidates need to fill in the first part i.e., PERSONAL DETAILS and will thereafter be directed to DOCUMENT UPLOADING. Once the documents are successfully uploaded, the system enters into the FEE PAYMENT. Finally, the candidate must take a printout of CONFIRMATION PAGE generated upon successful fee payment for their own record. There is no need to send any document by post.
