ADMISSION CRITERIA & SELECTION PROCEDURE
Eligibility Criteria:
Admission to this Institute is open to children of serving Army personnel, Ex-Army personnel, and war widows. Furthermore, four seats are reserved for the Indian Air Force and 2 seats for the Indian Navy and other corps. Any vacant seats will be allotted to children of Assam Rifles, Paramilitary forces, based on the merit list. 10% of the seats are available to All Civilians. Two seats are allotted for OP Sadhbhavana as recommended by Northern Command. The children of the following categories of Armed forces personnel are eligible and required to submit the relevant certificates (as given against the category) as proof of their eligibility for admission to AWES Professional Colleges along with the application form:-
Selection Procedure
Admission is based on marks obtained in Class X and Class XII and online interview by Board of Officers. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Class X and XII and online interview by Board of officers. In case of students appearing in class XII exams & results being awaited, the marks of class XI will be considered. Provisional admission will be granted to students appearing for class XII exam based on Class XI marks. However final admission will be based on meeting eligibility criteria. English is the medium of Instruction for the Programme at the institute. Admission to the course shall be provisional. Final admission is subject to confirmation regarding eligibility criteria from Bengaluru North University
Educational Qualification
Candidates who have passed their 10+2 examination conducted by CBSE, ICSE, PreUniversity Examination, Karnataka Board or any other examination considered as equivalent are eligible for admission to the B.Sc. (FAD) program, as per Bengaluru North University regulations. Candidates who completed their 10+2 through distance education or privately through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) must have pursued the same combination of subjects in both 11th and 12th grades to qualify for admission. Admission approval, fee refunds, and retention of original documents will be managed in accordance with the norms set by Bengaluru North University, and will be updated periodically as per university guidelines.
1.The applicants must fall into one of the following categories:-
Children of serving Army personnel with a minimum of 10 years of continuous service in the Army (Submit Certificate No 1) Children of ex-Armed forces personnel granted/awarded regular pension, liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board / invalid Medical Board. This includes wards of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pensions. (Submit Certificate No 1) Children of Ex-Armed Forces Personnel who have sought discharge or release after 10 years of service (Submit Certificate No 1)
2. Adopted / Step Children and Children of Re-married Widows:
Adopted child of Army personnel if adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission. (Submit Certificate No 2). Step children are eligible provided they are born from a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army who is otherwise eligible (Submit Certificate No 2)

Eligibility Criteria for Wards of Ex Army Medical Corps Officers/Army Dental
Corps
Officers presently serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force (IN / IAF).
Wards of only
those Ex Army Medical Officers/Army Dental Corps officers presently serving with
the
Indian Navy or Indian Air Force who have served with the Army for at least 5
Years(Submit
Certificate No. 3).
Eligibility Criteria for Children of Army Postal Service/ Military Nursing
Service/
Territorial Army Personnel (Submit Certificate No 3).
Wards of APS personnel classified as ex-servicemen as per Govt of India,
Ministry of
Defence letter No 9 (52)/88/D (Res) dated 19 Jul 89.
Children of those APS personnel who are on deputation and who have put in 10
years of
service in the Army.
Children of APS personnel, who are directly recruited into APS who have
completed 10
years of service and of those who as per their terms and conditions of service,
retired
from APS without reversion to the P&T Department after completing their minimum
pensionable service of which 10 years was in the Army.
Children of only those members of MNS who have 10 years of service as regular
members of MNS or are in receipt of pension from the Army.
Children of only those TA personnel who have completed 10 years of Embodied
Service.
Wards of IN and IAF personnel, both serving and retired will be considered on
availability
of Vacant Seats
Wards of serving personnel of Assam Rifles will be considered on availability of
Vacant
Seats
Documents To Be Submitted along with The Application Form
Following documents will be enclosed with the application form and the candidates
are advised to check the same before sending their form to AIFD, Bangalore :-
a)Medical Fitness (duly authenticated by any Medical Officer).
b)Willingness Certificate.
c)Declaration by Parent.
d)X/SSC/ICSE Certificate.
e)XI Certificate.
f)XII Certificate if passed previous year or else mention appearing
d).Caste Certificate (if SC/ST/OBC).
h)Details of Gallantry Awards (If Yes) attach Gazette Notification.
