Chanakya National Law University established under the Chanakya National Law University Act, 2021 06 (Bihar Act No. 24 of 2021 06) and included under Section 2 (f) of the U.G. C. Act, 1956, aims at Excellence in imparting Legal Education.
Five Year B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) and BBA LL.B. (Hons.) Programme
Eligibility : Have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) system or an equivalent examination there to securing in the aggregate not less than 50% of the total marks.( 45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories)
Selection
The selection shall strictly be based on performance at the CLAT, 2023 held on May 2023 subject to the Reservations as per Bihar
Seats : Total 140 seats
General category : 60 seats
SC : 19 seats, ST: 01seats
Extremely Backward Class:22seats , Backward Class:14seats, Women of Backward Class: 04seats
Foreign Nationals/NRI/ NRI Sponsored : 2021

Foreign Nationals and 10 seats are allotted to NRI’s/NRI sponsored candidates)
Reservation for PWD is 3% in each category.
Admission Procedure
Admissions under Foreign Nationals / NRIs / NRI Sponsored Categories:
The candidates under Foreign Nationals / NRIs shall be admitted directly on the basis of their 10+2 / Intermediate marks. However, applications under NRI Sponsored Category shall be considered for direct admission of those candidates only who have appeared for CLAT 2023 They shall be admitted as per their Rank in CLAT 2023
Candidates of the above mentioned categories shall fulfill other requirements regarding age and qualifications as per CLAT- 2023 and CNLU eligibility Regulations. Their merit list of Foreign Nationals / NRIs will be determined on the basis of their 10+2 marks. If the merit is still the same then the marks of 10th standard will be taken into consideration. If still there is no change in rank then the higher in age shall get preference.
Candidates under Foreign Nationals / NRIs shall send the filled in application forms along with the copy of the admit card of CLAT 2023, other relevant documents and prescribed fees.
The applications for direct admission to B.A., LL.B.(Hons.) / B.B.A., LL.B.(Hons.) Courses for the Academic Session 2023 under Foreign Nationals / NRIs / NRI Sponsored Categories be sent directly to the University along with the duly filled in application forms, other relevant documents and prescribed fees.
Candidates who wish to apply under Foreign Nationals Category/ NRI's/NRI sponsored category shall submit the duly filled in application forms which can be downloaded from our Website www.cnlu.ac.in with all supporting documents along with DD for Rs. 4000/- in favour of Registrar, Chanakya National Law University, Patna, payable at Patna on or before the due date.For SC/ST Candidates Rs.3500/-. Selected candidates should complete the admission formalities by paying required fees on the scheduled dates to be announced in the University Website: www.cnlu.ac.in .
Note: Unfilled seats, if any, in Foreign Nationals and NRI's / NRI sponsored categories will be filled in as per the Bihar Act No. 16 of 2021 03.
