Register
Registering for NMAT by GMAC exam is simple and convenient. Get started with
these easy-to-follow steps:
- Start by clicking on 'Register for NMAT by GMAC™'on mba.com/nmat and
create an account. Be sure to use a valid email address.
- Fill remaining details under 'Manage NMAT Profile'
- Check your mailbox for a verification email and follow the steps it
mentioned to verify your account. Be sure to check your junk or spam email
folders or if needed, click the“Resend Email Verification”button shown on
mba.com/nmat page.
- Click the“NMAT by GMAC™Dashboard"button on mba.com/nmat page and
access the Candidate Dashboard.
- Complete the application form on the Candidate Dashboard. Note: Your
name and date of birth must exactly match your Photo ID.
- Select the schools to which you would like to send your scores in the
School Preferences section. Score sending to 5 schools is included in your
registration fee. You can send additional score reports by paying INR 400 +
applicable taxes for every school selected beyond 5.
- You must upload a photograph (not more than 6 months old) that bears
likeness to you and the photograph on your Photo ID. This photograph will be
included on the admit card that you must show to the test centre
administrator at the test centre.
- Pay the exam fee.

Schedule the Exam
- On completion of registration and payment you can schedule your exam
from the Candidate Dashboard. Exam appointments must be scheduled at the
earliest and within the dates mentioned on the NMAT website.
- Select the exam mode as test centre.
- Click on the Book Exam button to reach the scheduling
- Choose the Country, City and Test Centre and choose the date and time
when you would like to take the exam.
- Once you have scheduled the exam, you will be able to download the admit
card from your Candidate Dashboard.
Retakes
You will be allowed to take the NMAT by GMAC™exam a maximum of three times
during the testing cycle (from 1st July of current year to 30th June of next
year). This includes the first attempt plus a maximum of two retake attempts.
Retake payment and scheduling is enabled on your dashboard after you have
taken the previous attempt. On payment of the retake fee, you can schedule the
retake exam by simply clicking on the Retake Exam button, select the location,
date, and time.
If you have successfully completed an attempt and have
received your score card with a valid score only then you can book your next
attempt immediately but for a date after 15 days.
If you have not
successfully completed the exam and your score card reflects NoShow, NDA Refused
or Exam Incomplete only then you can book a slot for any date after 24 hrs.
Please note: The NMAT by GMAC™exam registration and the
B-School Application process are two separate steps. We encourage you to keep
checking the University/B-School website for any changes in the program
eligibility criteria and admission process of the NMAT by GMAC score accepting
programs.
Test Centre Locations
NMAT by GMAC™ exam is administered at 87 Test Centres across 83 cities.

Complete address of Test Centre will be visible to you on the Admit Card, and
it will be available for download 7 days before your scheduled exam date.
Exam Structure
The NMAT by GMAC™ exam is comprised of three sections– Language Skills,
Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning.
- The exam sections are individually timed and candidates must answer the
questions in each section within the allotted time.
- Questions are delivered one at a time and are randomly selected from a
pool of questions.
- The number of questions, difficulty levels, and time limit for each of
the sections is predetermined and, under normal administration conditions,
are the same regardless of when and where the test is administered.
- Candidates can choose the order/sequence of the test sections at the
beginning of the exam.

Test takers need to answer the questions of each section within the allotted section time. Once the test taker completes a section, whether the test taker selects to move to the next section or if time runs out, the test taker will not be able to return to that section.
