Foreign Medical Graduate Examination is a screening test for medical graduates to be eligible to practice medicine in the country. FMGE exam is conducted biannually in the month of June and December by the National Board of Examinations for Indian and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) to obtain the registration certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council (SMC).

National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has been entrusted with the responsibility to conduct the Screening Test as per Screening Test Regulations 2002. Role of NBEMS is limited to conduct of the test, publishing the result and handing over the result to National Medical Commission & all State Medical Councils.

Application for FMGE December 2025 session can only be submitted online through NBEMS website https://nbe.edu.in There is no other methodology for application submission. Application submitted through any other mode shall be summarily rejected.

Eligibility

The candidate must meet/fulfil the following criteria:

He / She is a citizen of India or Overseas Citizen of India.
The candidate should possess a primary medical qualification, which is confirmed by the Indian Embassy concerned, to be a recognized qualification for enrolment as medical practitioner in the country in which the institution awarding the said qualification is situated.
The result of final examination for the said primary medical qualification should have been declared on or before 31st October 2025.
In the event that the proof / documentary evidence submitted by the candidate does not clearly establish that the result of the final examination of his primary medical qualification was not declared on or before 31st October 2025., the candidature shall be cancelled and the candidate shall be declared as ineligible.
Candidates who fail to submit the documents as prescribed in the Information Bulletin for FMGE will not be allowed to appear in the examination and would be declared ineligible to appear.

How To Apply

The Candidate has to first "register" to receive the User ID and Password.
Candidate will receive the User ID and Password on the registered email address and/or on the registered mobile number.
After successful registration, candidate can login with the User ID and Password to complete the application form.
Candidate must provide Name, Date of Birth, Nationality, Mobile Number and Email Address correctly as these details cannot be changed once the registration is completed.
