Important Dates

Foreign Medical Graduate Examination is a screening test for medical graduates to be eligible to practice medicine in the country. FMGE exam is conducted biannually in the month of June and December by the National Board of Examinations for Indian and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) to obtain the registration certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council (SMC).

National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has been entrusted with the responsibility to conduct the Screening Test as per Screening Test Regulations 2002. Role of NBEMS is limited to conduct of the test, publishing the result and handing over the result to National Medical Commission & all State Medical Councils.

Application for FMGE June 2022 session can only be submitted online through NBEMS website https://nbe.edu.in There is no other methodology for application submission. Application submitted through any other mode shall be summarily rejected.

Eligibility

The candidate must meet/fulfil the following criteria:

1. He / She is a citizen of India or Overseas Citizen of India.
2. The candidate should possess a primary medical qualification, which is confirmed by the Indian Embassy concerned, to be a recognized qualification for enrolment as medical practitioner in the country in which the institution awarding the said qualification is situated.
3. Candidates must note that it is mandatory for them to submit proof /documentary evidence that clearly establishes that the result of the final
   examination for such a primary medical qualification was declared on or before the cut-off date i.e. 30th April 2022. The document submitted must confirm that the candidate has successfully completed all required courses of the primary medical courses with eligible results as per requirement of the institution concerned.
4. In the event that the proof / documentary evidence submitted by the candidate does not clearly establish that the result of the final examination of his primary medical qualification was not declared on or before 30th April 2023, the candidature shall be cancelled and the candidate shall be declared as ineligible.
5. Candidates who fail to submit the documents as prescribed in the Information Bulletin for FMGE will not be allowed to appear in the examination and would be declared ineligible to appear.
