AMRITA SCHOOL OF MEDICINE, a constituent Unit of the AMRITA VISHWA VIDYAPEETHAM (a Deemed University established under Section 3 of the UGC Act of 1956) conducts MBBS & BDS in its Health Sciences Campus at Kochi, Kerala, India. Selection for admissions is based on the rank obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2022).
The Ministry of Human Resource development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI)
has established National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent autonomous and
self-sustained premier testing organisation for conducting efficient,
transparent and international standard test in order to access the competency of
candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions.
As per
regulations framed under the Indian Medical Council Act -1956 and the Dentists
Act-1948 and as amended from time to time, NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE
TEST (UG) 2022 (NEET (UG) - 2022) will be conducted by National Testing Agency
(NTA) for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in Indian Medical/Dental Colleges run
with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the
Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India except for the
institutions established through an Act of Parliament i.e. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry.
The responsibility of the NTA is limited to the conduct of the entrance
examination, declaration of result and for providing an “All India Rank merit
list” to the Directorate General Health Service, Government of India for the
conduct of counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats and for supplying the
result to States/other Counselling Authorities.

Age: Should complete the age of 17 years by 31.12.2021 and should not exceed 23 by the said date
Duration : Four and half years plus one year compulsory rotating
Residential Internship.
The five-and-a-half year program in Medicine, including a year of internship,
involves both theory classes and practical sessions. Clinical exposure begins
in the second year with classes conducted by clinical specialists emphasizing
the relevance of the basic sciences to clinical practices. Hospital postings
and field visits to public health centers aim at exposing the candidate to different
scenarios in which doctors in India might find themselves, and how to go about
providing the best care in all the circumstances.

Selection for admissions is based on the rank obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)
The seats will be filled only on the basis of Rank Order (All India NEET Overall Rank) under each category.
