Important Dates

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is being introduced for admission into PG programmes in Central and participating Universities for the academic session 2026. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the country, especially those from North-East and from rural and other remote areas, and help to establish better connect with the Universities. A single Examination will enable the Candidates to cover a wide outreach and be part of the admissions process to various Central Universities and other Participating Universities.

 NOTE :  The examination will be conducted in 2-3 shifts.

MODE OF EXAMINATION

The Examination shall be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only.

ELIGIBILITY

• Age Limit: There is no age limit for candidates appearing in the CUET (PG)-2026 examination
• .Educational Qualification: Candidates who have:
• Passed a Bachelors degree or equivalent examination, or
• Appearing in Bachelors degree/equivalent examination in 2026, are eligible to appear in CUET (PG) 2026.
• University-Specific Age Criteria: Admission to university will be subject to compliance with the age criteria, if any, prescribed by that specific university.

Candidates are advised to verify the age requirements of the university they wish to apply to before submitting their applications.

MARKING SCHEME

1. Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Four marks (+4)
2. Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).
3. Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0).
4. If more than one option is found to be correct, then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
5. If all options are found to be correct, then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to all those
   who have attempted the question.
6. If none of the options is found correct or a Question is found to be wrong or a Question is dropped, then all candidates who have appeared will be given four marks (+4).

MEDIUM OF QUESTION PAPERS

The medium of the Question Paper for CUET (PG)-2026 will be in English and Hindi (Bilingual) except for languages, M. Tech/Higher Sciences, and Acharya papers (excluding Hindu Studies, Buddhist Studies, and Indian Knowledge System).

• Papers for M. Tech/Higher Sciences will only be in English.
• Papers for Humanities, Sciences, and Common Subjects will be bilingual (English and Hindi).

Please note that for the correctness of the questions in all question papers, the English version will be taken as final, except for language papers.

FEES

Fee Payable by Candidates in INR (through: Net-Banking/ Debit Card /Credit Card / UPI/Wallet).

 ADMISSIONS

• Merely appearing in CUET (PG) - 2026 does not confer any right to the candidate for admission to the desirous University.
• The selection and admission would be subject to fulfilling the admission criteria, eligibility, rank in merit list, medical fitness, verification of original documents and such other criteria as may be prescribed by the University, the candidate is applying for.
• Admissions are handled at the level of the Central and Participating Universities for their respective programs. After the declaration of the CUET (PG) - 2026 result by NTA, the respective Universities will declare the counselling/ admission schedule and merit list based on the CUET (PG) - 2026 score and the other criteria of the respective University. For all admission-related procedures/queries, the candidates are advised to refer to the website of applied University.
• NTA has no role in the selection process - transfer / cancellation/ conversion of seats and admission of CUET (PG) 2026 appeared candidates in the CUET - (PG) courses and refund of fees paid by them to Counseling Authorities/ Admission, etc.
