A Combined Defence Services Examination will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on September 1st, 2024 for admission to the courses mentioned below.

Name of the Course and Approximate No. of Vacancies

  1. Indian Military Academy Dehradun 147th Course   [includes vacancies reserved for NCC Certificate (Army Wing) holders].- 100 Vacancies

  2. Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala-Course Executive (Hydro/ General Service) (including 06 vacancies reserved for NCC 'C' Certificate holders (Naval Wing) - 45 Vacancies

  3. Air Force Academy, Hyderabad (Pre-Flying) Training   i.e. No. 204 F/PC Course. - 32 Vacancies

  4. Officers Training Academy, Chennai, 108th SSC Course (for Men)  - 225 Vacancies

  5. Officers Training Academy, Chennai 22nd SSC Women (NonTechnical)  - 15 Vacancies

Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status :

For Indian Military Academy Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July,1997 and not later than 1st July,2002 only are eligible.

For Navel Academy Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1997 (2nd July, 1996 in case of Naval Wing Certificate holders) and not later than 1st July, 2002 only are eligible.

For Air Force Academy 20 to 24 years as on 1st July, 2021 i.e. born not earlier than 2nd July, 1997 and not later than 1st July, 2001 (Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 yrs. i.e. born not earlier than 2nd July, 1995 and not later than 1st July, 2001) only are eligible.

For Officer's Training Academy (SSC Course for Men) : Male candidates (married or unmarried) born not earlier than 2nd July, 1996 and not later than 1st July, 2002 only are eligible.

For Officers, Training Academy (SSC Women Non-Technical Course) Unmarried Women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1996 and not later than 1st July, 2002

Educational Qualification :  

For Indian Military Academy and Officer's Training Academy Degree of a recognized university or equivalent.

For Naval Academy B.Sc (with Physics & Mathematics) or Bachelor of Engineering.

For Air Force Academy Degree of a recognized University (with Physics & Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

Candidates who are studying in final year Degree Course and have yet to pass final year degree examination or equivalent examination can also apply for examination, but they will be required to submit proof of passing by the specified dates published in Commission's Notice for Examination.

The centres and the date of holding the examination as mentioned above are liable to be changed at the discretion of the Commission.

How to Apply :

Candidates are required to apply On-line using the link www.upsconline.nic.in Detailed instructions for filling up Online Applications are available on the above mentioned website.

The applicants are advised to submit only single application; however if due to any unavoidable situation, if he/she submits another/multiple applications, then he/she must ensure that application with the higher RID (Registration ID) is complete in all respects like applicants details, examination centre, photograph, signature, fee etc. The applicants who are submitting multiple applications should note that only the applications with higher RID (Registration ID) shall be entertained by the Commission and fee paid against one RID shall not be adjusted against any other RID.
