The GITAM School of Gandhian Studies (GSGS), inaugruated in 2016, has evolved from the Centre for Gandhian Studies which was established in the year 2011, with the objective of becoming an international hub of Gandhian thought. The centre has carried out significant research in the areas of nonviolence, peace, conflict resolution and Gandhina system of basic education. GSGS, with committed faculty and scholars from around the globe is engaged in research and teaching. The school functions through the Department of Humanities, Department of Psychology, Centre for Research in Public Policy and Centre for Languages.
