The Health & Family Welfare (PME) Department, Government of Tamil Nadu invited applications for admissions to Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing course 2015

Duration: 2 years

Eligibility :

• The candidate should be a citizen of India

• Candidate should be a Native of Tamil Nadu

• Candidates who have studied from XI Std. to XII standard in schools of Tamil Nadu need not enclose the &aposNativity Certificate&apos

• Candidates who are native of Tamil Nadu but studied XI Std. to XII Std and Diploma in Nursing course for a period of 3 or 3 ½ years either partly or completely in schools situated outside Tamil Nadu should produce the ‘Nativity Certificate’

• Candidates should not have completed 45 years as on 31st December 2015. Evidence should be produced.

Educational Qualification

• Candidates belonging to all categories should have passed Diploma in Nursing Examination with a pass in the Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10+2 or an equivalent examination recognized by the University

• Should have obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council

• Private Candidates should have put in a minimum of two years of experience on or before 31st May 2015 as a nurse in any Govt. Hospital /Institution or other Hospitals subsequent to completion of the course

• Service candidates should send their application through the Head of the Medical College Hospital / Institution in which they are presently working.

• Service candidates serving in Tamil Nadu Medical Service on a regular basis should have completed two years of continuous regular service as on 31st May 2015

• Candidates who are serving purely under temporary category in Tamil Nadu Medical Service will be considered for selection under open quota as non-service candidates only

• Service candidates taking allotment in Self-financing colleges will not be paid salary and they have to avail leave to which they are eligible for the period of study on their own after obtaining prior permission from their Head of the Department concerned

• One mark for each completed year of experience as on 31st May 2015 which is calculated from the last date of the month of passing Diploma in Nursing  Exam subject to a maximum of 10 marks shall be awarded as experience mark for both service and non-service candidates

• The admission to Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Course is open to both men and women in the ratio of 1:9 (10% for men and 90% for women)

Selection Procedure

The selection will be made on merit basis and by counseling applying the Rule of reservation / Roster method followed by the Govt of Tamil Nadu whichever is applicable

How to apply

Applications can only be downloaded from the websites www.tnhealth.org and www.tn.gov.in and the filled application along with necessary enclosures and 2 self-addressed envelopes measuring 24 X 10 cms and sent in a large sized cover measuring 38cm x 28 cm super-scribed ‘Application for Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Course 2015-16 Session’ to the Secretary‚ Selection Committee‚ Kilpauk‚ Chennai-10  before 9th July 2015 by 05.00 pm along with a Demand Draft for Rs 350/- towards the cost of application form which is non-refundable drawn in favour of The Secretary‚ Selection Committee and payable at Chennai.The name of the candidate and the name of the course should be written on the reverse of the Demand Draft.

The template with requisite details available for download should be printed and pasted on the cover. SC/SCA and ST candidate who are been native of Tamil Nadu are exempted from payment of the cost of application form . Fill up the Application form and scrutiny form legibly‚ neatly and correctly
Application with incomplete or insufficient particulars or without enclosures or those received after the last date mentioned will be summarily rejected.
