Applications are invited for admission to the following courses offered by the schools of the Madurai Kamaraj University for the academic year 2019-2020.

M.Sc. Genomics - (2 years)
M.Sc. Microbial Gene Technology - (2 years)
M.Sc. Biochemical Technology - (2 years)
M.Sc. Marine Biology - (2 years)
M.B.A. - Master of Business Administration – ( Residential Programme) (2 years)
M.B.A. - Hospital Administration - (2 years)
M.C.A. - Master of Computer Applications - (3 years)

Eligibility

1) M.Sc. Genomics
A Bachelor's degree in any branch of Life Sciences (Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics or equivalent), Physical and Chemical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry), Medicine, Veterinary and Agriculture from any recognized Indian or Foreign University, with 55% marks or equivalent are eligible to apply. Students with B.Tech. Degrees in Biotechnology, Computer Science, Information Technology and Bioinformatics with Biology at +2 level are also eligible.

Note: A minimum of 40% seats will be allocated to candidates from out side Tamilnadu State (Residence and Institution).

2) M.Sc. (Microbial Gene Technology) (M.Sc. (MGT))
A Bachelor's degree in science courses where Biological Sciences – Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Microbial Technology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, and etc- is either a Major or an Ancillary subject. Students from professional courses such as MBBS., B.VSc., B.D.S, B.Pharm., B.Sc. (Agriculture) and related subjects from a recognized Indian or Foreign University are also eligible.

3) M.Sc. (Biochemical Technology) (M.Sc. (BCT))
A pass in B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Genetics/Nutrition and Dietetics/ Microbiology/ Biology/ Botany/ Zoology/ Chemistry / Medical Laboratory Technology/Triple major with Biochemistry and allied subjects.

4) M.Sc. (Marine Biology)
Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in any branch of Life SciencesBiology/ Biochemistry/ Botany/ Zoology/ Marine Biology/ Microbiology/ Bio-technology of a recognized Indian or Foreign University are eligible. Candidates should have scored a minimum of 55% marks in the subject.

5) M.B.A. – (Master of Business Administration) (Residential Programme)
A pass in any Bachelor's degree.

6) M.B.A. (Hospital Administration)
A pass in any Bachelor's degree.

7) M.C.A. – (Master of Computer Applications)
i) Graduate in any discipline with Mathematics as compulsory subject at 10+2 level
Or
ii. Graduate in Computer Science / Computer Applications / Software / IT
The candidates who have not studied Mathematics at +2 level but having studied the subjects:
(i) Business Mathematics
(ii) Business Mathematics & Operational Research
(iii) Operations Research
(iv) Business Mathematics and Statistics
(v) Numerical Methods and Mathematics
only at graduate level are not eligible to apply.

Course Requirements

Candidates should have studied under 10+2+3 or 10+1+4 or 10+3+2 pattern.
Candidates who are undergoing the VI Semester/III year (Non- Semester) of the U.G. course are eligible to apply for P.G. courses.
The candidates should have successfully completed the course at the time of admission.

Application Procedure

Prospectus and application can be downloaded from the website http://mkuniversity.org. Xerox Copies of downloaded applications may also be used.

Applicants who are willing to apply for more than one course should use separate application form for each course.
Registration Fee - (Each course) Rs.600/-

Applicants are requested to read carefully the rules of eligibility and other instructions given in the prospectus.

The candidates have to submit xerox copies of the following certificates duly attested by a Gazetted Officer along with the application form. Original certificates should not be sent.

SSLC, HSE mark statement
U.G./P.G degree Marks statement / Grade certificates/ Provisional Certificate
Community Certificate obtained from Tahsildar/ Deputy Tahsildar concerned. Otherwise it will not be taken into account.
Income Certificate obtained 3 months prior to the date of advertisement (for SC/ST/Blind candidates only) from the competent issuing authority.
Certificate of Physically Handicapped / Leprosy cured: Candidates who want them to be considered under the Physically Handicapped category should submit the certificate obtained from an authorized Medical Officer of the specialty concerned not below the rank of Civil Surgeon together with photograph showing the nature of handicap.
Sports Certificate: Candidates who want them to be considered under the Sports category should produce a certificate obtained from the concerned University Physical Director in Form-I/II/III for having represented the State / Inter-University tournaments / athletics.
Ex-servicemen Certificate: Certificates to be produced
+2 marks statement (compulsory)
The candidates should fill-up the hall-ticket and NRI/sponsored certificate (if applicable) attached to the application and send along with the application.
Two self addressed, stamped envelopes, each for Rs.10/- should be enclosed.
A Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Madurai Kamaraj University, payable at Madurai towards registration fee as prescribed by the University should be enclosed. SC/ST candidates are exempted from the payment of Registration Fee for only one course.
Demand Draft towards registration fee as prescribed by the University should be enclosed with each application. For SC/ST candidates, the exemption from payment of Registration fee is applicable only for one course and with additional applications; Demand Draft towards registration fee as prescribed by the University should be attached with each application.
The Demand Draft should have been obtained after the date of notification and on or before the last date notified for receipt of filled-in application.
Note: Cheques, Postal Orders, Money Orders and cash will not be accepted. Students should write their name, complete address and course for which applied in Block letters on the reverse side of the demand draft.
Registration fees, once paid, will not be refunded, adjusted or transferred under any circumstances.
Filling with any wrong information or suppression of information may result in punitive action.
Certificates other than those required need not be enclosed.
The application form without the Xerox copies of relevant certificates will not be considered.
All the columns in the application should be filled-in. Incomplete application will be rejected.

Selection Procedure

The selection of candidate is based on the marks in the Entrance Test conducted by Madurai Kamaraj University and the short-listed candidates will be called for Seminar presentation and Interview conducted by Madurai Kamaraj University at Madurai for the following courses:

1. M.Sc. Genomics
2. M.Sc. Microbial Gene Technology
3. M.Sc. Biochemical Technology

The selection of candidate is based on the marks in the Entrance Test conducted by Madurai Kamaraj University for the following courses:
1. M.Sc. Marine Biology

The selection of candidate is based on the marks in the Entrance Test conducted by Madurai Kamaraj University and the short-listed candidates will be called for Group Discussion & Personal Interview conducted by Madurai Kamaraj University at Madurai for the following courses:
1 M.C.A. - Master of Computer Applications
2. M.B.A. - Master of Business Administration
3. M.B.A. - Hospital Administration

Selected candidates will be intimated individually by post. The list of Register Numbers of selected candidates will also be published in the University website / displayed on the Department Notice Board.
