The JCECE will be held in two stages - Preliminary and Final Examination. Those who qualify in the Preliminary Examination are eligible to appear in the Final examination. The preliminary exam will consist of single paper where four parts (Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology ) will be given as separate in equal weightage with objective type questions. The duration and number of questions will be 2.30 hours and 200 respectively. For each incorrect response one fourth of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted.
After the evaluation of preliminary exams, a list will be prepared for both engineering and medicine candidates based on the marks obtained in the preliminary examination
The final exam will be held in in another day as three pars. The first part consist of physics and chemistry with 100 questions each in 3 hours duration in a single paper. The time allowed will be 2.30 hour. Biology and Maths exams will held as separate parts with 100 questions and 1 and half hour duration for each paper. Pattern of exam will be objective. The engineering candidates will have to appear for only physics, chemistry and Maths parts as well as the Medical students will appear for only PCB parts.
