The Moderator Gnanadason Polytechnic College is a Christian Minority Polytechnic College approved by All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi and affiliated to the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai. This Institution was established in 1983 by the Church of South India (CSI), Kanya Kumari Diocese which is pioneer in the field of education. There is a governing Board comprising the Chairman (Bishop, CSI, K.K. Diocese), the secretary, CSI, K.K. Diocese, the Correspondent, the Principal & five Elected members which governs the Moderator Gnanadason Polytechnic College.
MGPT is located in the heart of Nagercoil town and it is adjacent to the Nagercoil Main Bus stand. It is well connected by bus from all parts of Tamil Nadu & neighbouring States. Consequently access to the polytecnic becomes very easy The campus of the polytechnic extends to an area of 9 acres. It is a self-financed Technical Institute offering diploma level courses. Library - A good library with Delnet facility is provided in the institution. It has a collection of more than 7500 volumes on all the subjects, Sufficient technical & other journals, magazines are subscribed by the library for the benefit of staff & the Students.
Laboratory - The institute has excellent laboratory facilities with latest equipments in all the departments
Hostel Facility
There is a hostel for boys in campus with all amenities. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is available. The mess fees are calculated on the basis of dividing systems.
