Mar Thoma College, Chungathara was established on October 28, 1981 by the Mar Thoma Church, under the able leadership of the great visionary, Rt. Rev. Easow Mar Timotheos Episcopa with the great motto, “Let Your Light Shine”. It is an institution for Rural Development, since it was established in an educationally, socially and financially backward area. The College always tried to uphold the noblest Christian ideals and offered its services to the members of every religion, caste and community

library :The College library is dedicated to the memory of our founder Manager, The Late Rt. Rev. Easow Mar Timotheos Episcopa who was the spirit and architect of this Institution. The library is computerised and the collections are classified and cataloged. It holds a stack of about 16105volumes. It subscribes journals, periodicals and dailies, Barcode is used for the issue and return of books.
Fully Equipped Laboratory:the laboratories of the college are equipped with enough equipments and instruments, which help the students for their syllabus in practicals at the undergraduate levels.
Language Lab:A well equipped Language Laboratory with internet facility functions in our college. It is used as an aid in modern Language Teaching. It is very useful for language students to learn effortlessly and communicate eloquently.
Open Air Auditorium:The college has an open air auditorium, where the usual gathering of students for the college union activities. It is provided with tress roofing, so that students should be kept away from sunlight and rain.
Sports:Playground consists of a football court, cricket ground, concrete basketball court, shuttle badminton court etc. College women’s cricket team is the winners of the University tournaments for the last three years and six players are representing the University team and three of them representing the state team.
