The Department of Geology was established in the 1990-91.The Departmental has seven faculty members. Besides running M.Sc Applied Geology, M.Tech Applied Geology (5 years Integrated Course) program, the Department undertakes PhD Program in different specializations. The Department has had a funding of about Rs. 10 million through numerous research projects sanctioned by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi, the University Grant Commission, New Delhi and University funding. The Department has also been given a grant of Rs. 25 lac under the FIST program of the DST.
