RCPIT was set up as part of one of the self powered projects of Shirpur Education Society in 2001 with an objective to erect a truly world class institute in the rural vicinity where students from every sort of background would be benefited from the facilities that matched global standards. RCPIT was conceived by Hon. Shri. Amrishbhai R. Patel, the former cabinet minister for School Education, sports and youth welfare for Maharashtra State.The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and is affiliated to the North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon (accredited 4-star status by NAAC,Bangalore).
The strength of RCPIT lies in its state-of-the-art Laboratories, digital library, and an advanced workshop.
Computer center:A modern computer center occupying an area of 300 sq. mtr serves as a central facility for all departments. The centre comprises of a server room having state of the art IBM Servers for Database Server, Web Server, Linux Server, and Domain Server. All the terminals are provided with Internet connectivity with Broadband Line of bandwidth of 2 Mbps. All the legal Softwares like Windows 98/2000/XP, Windows 2000 server, Windows 2003 server, SQL Server, Visual Studio 6.0.NET.,ORACLE 9i , Rational Rose etc.
Library:The interior of the library is well furnished with ergonomically designed seating arrangements. The library is divided into; 170 sq mtr. reading zone, 325 sq. mtr. stacking area and 117 sq. mtr. issuing area. The library is sufficient to a large extent and covers 25821 books' collection and 102 National Journals and Magazines pertinent to the courses offered by the Institute. The students can also access journals and magazines through the magazine zone available in the library.
Hostel Facility
There are two hostels for boys and three hostels for girls of a capacity 200 each. The hostels are situated within the Institute campus.
