The Donyi-Polo Government College was established in 1996 at Kamki, West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh with a motto “SA VIDYA YA VIMUKTYE” (which means EDUCATION FOR LIBERATION). It is a government college and is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University (Rono Hills, Itanagar). The institute has been maintaining the academic curricula as per the guidelines of the University.
The college has an area of 103 acres of flat land. At present the campus accommodates academic block, administrative block and three hostels (2 Boys’ and 1 Girls’ hostel), each having 60 seats, and staff residential quarters. Due to unavailability of sufficient infrastructure, the college with the permission of the State Govt., has been temporarily using some buildings of the DIET which is also within the same campus. One Girls’ Hostel is also in the DIET building. Thus, the total number of hostels comes to 4 (four).Donyi-Polo Govt. College has a separate library building (housing 3164 no. of books) and outdoor game facility like football, volleyball, cricket, etc.
All the students of Arunachal Pradesh admitted to the college receive State Govt. Scholarship.
