The college that celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2006 is a forerunner in the realm of higher education in this part of the state. It was conferred on with the status of autonomy for a period of six years from 2007-08 to 2012-13. The college has got academic freedom to frame its own rules of admission within the reservation policy of Government, to prescribe its own courses of study, to restructure and to redesign the courses suitable to the local needs, and to evolve own methods of assessment of students performance, examinations and publication of results. Being a reputed college in the District, the college acts as a liaison between the Government and other degree colleges in the district. Through TSKC (TELANGANA SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE CENTRE), on campus Job Training Programme is given to the students in soft skills, Technical Skills and industry grade skills. Job oriented Certificate Courses are also offered to the students under Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Convergence Scheme. The Alumni of the Institution spread across the globe occupying respectable positions in various professions.
