Dhote Bandhu Science College has the privilege of identifying itself as an exclusive Science College in the whole of Gondia District. The mother institution of society, N.M.D Arts and Commerce College ventured to start a Science faculty in its own fold in 1963 . The popularity of the faculty inspired the management of the Society to go ahead with the plan of setting up an independent Science College in Gondia. The founder president of the GES Late Manoharbhai patel along with his companion late kashiramji Dhote with their best endeavor to set up Dhote Bandhu Science College in 1969. Since then the college is marching on the path of progress and prosperity. In 1999, at the flag end of last century the management felt a dire need of post graduation courses in the faculty of Science as n such provision was available in the whole district . hence the college started post graduation courses in three subjects i.e. Chemistry , Microbiology , and Computer Science in the cadmic session 2003-04 two more post graduate subjects physics and botany were introduced. Beside the above maintained courses the college runs career oriented and indigenous courses to enable our students to complete in today’s world and to empower them for self employment and bright career.
We take every effort to encourage our students to participate in various social, cultural and sports activities. The college has its own cricket, football and volleyball grounds. It also has 1500 sq. ft. modern style well equipped Gymnasium. Table Tennis, Carom and wrestling facilities are also provided. Our students have participated and won number of prizes at Inter-Collegiate, University, State and National Levels. All the sports facilities are well looked after by proficient sports in-charge and is guided by keen sports person
Scholarship Facility
All Backward class students and the student coming in the lower income group should apply for Govt. Of India scholarship in the prescribed form through their respective college in the month of June only.
One of the main objective of D.B.Science College is that every student who graduates should become gainfully employed. Towards this end, “Students’ Placement & Career Guidance Cell”, is established. The cell works proactively throughout the year.
