Sakti, once a princely state in eastern India, saw the birth of Jawahar Lal Nehru College in the year 1964. With the sole objective of providing higher educational opportunities to the children of rural areas chiefly surrounding Sakti, the auspicious efforts of Honorable Raja Surendra Bahadur Singh, Chairman, Governing Body, paved the way for this institution to come into existence. Apart from teaching programs of art, commerce and science, students are encouraged to build character and develop personality through sports, NSS, NCC and other physical activities. We offer master’s degree in Political science, Economics and Hindi.
Sports Facilities: Indoor and Outdoor games facilities are available in the college. Different sports competitions have been organized in the college campus
Library: There is a Building for Library Facility in our College. There are about 8,000 books, journals, magazines & reference books are available.
Common Rooms: eparate common rooms for girls and boys with toilets are available in the college.
Play Ground:The indoor and outdoor games and sports facilities are available in the college campus. Orientation programme is conducted every year to make the students aware of the sports facilities available to them. The college conducts special coaching programmes by appointing expert coaches for various sports events.
