Department of Environmental Sciences was established in 1995 under the Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology. It is located at Kariavattom campus of Kerala University, about 15 km North of Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway and Bus Station, in the NH 47 road. It is a teaching-cum-research department.
Environmental science is an interdisciplinary subject consisting of chemical biological, geological, physical sciences and engineering. Hence the stock of the departmental library includes books related to all these areas. The stock consists of 1840 books including 254 reference books. Reference can be made during working hours of the department. Library is automated, and the the details of books can be accessed. Internet facility is available.
