Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition in Hyderad was established as Food Craft Institute, as a registered society, under the State Technical Education Department, Sponsored by Govt. of India and Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. It was upgraded into the Institute of Hotel Management, in 1984 and in 1986 affiliated to the fold of National Council for Hotel Management, Catering Technology, New Delhi, an autonomous body set up by the Ministry of Tourism & Culture, Govt. of India. Since then, the complete process of conducting a common entrance examination, year-end examinations, providing, reviewing & updating of common syllabus, awarding of certificates and conduct of faculty development programmes is being monitored by the National Council on all India basis

Eligibility
Successful completion of 10+2 examination or it's equivalent. Candidates who are appearing in qualifying examination at the time of entrance are also eligible to apply provisionally subject to the condition that they should produce the proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission. The candidates selected provisionally will not be allowed to join/continue in case they fail in 10+2 examination
