Velammal College of Engineering and Technology was established in the year 2007 to impart quality technical education. It is a self financing non-minority institution, approved by All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), New Delhi and affliated to Anna University, Thirunelveli and Anna University of Technology, Madurai. This college is founded by Shri.M.V.Muthuramalingam, a Professional Engineer and the Chairman of the Velammal Educational Trust,Chennai. The College has on its roll richly experienced and Well qualified faculty in all disciplines. Periodical lectures by eminent visiting Professors, Scientists and Educational Administrators are arranged to update the Knowledge of students /staff in their respective fields of study.
Hostel Facility
Separate hostels are available for men and women. The hostels are situated within the college campus. The various facilities include 24 hours water facility from RO plant, mess providing both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Internet facilities are provided for inmates every evening and during Sundays. ATM facility is available for the hostel inmates.
Velammal College of Engineering & Technology, Madurai, has an independent Training & placement Cell devoted to cater the needs of the organizations in conducting capus interviews for placements. It is headed by Prof. L. Andal, and is assisted by Staff and Students Placement coordinators who lead a team of placement representatives from various courses of study. The TPO Cell plays a very important and key role is counseling and guiding the students for their successful career a placement which is a crucial interface between the stages of completion of academic program of the students and their entry into the Corporates. The cell also coordinates various activities to the career of the students along with the industrial training.
