K.H. Govt. Degree College, Dharmavaram was established by the Government. of Andhra Pradesh in August, 1982 in the backward, rural town of Dhramavaram in Anantapur District to cater the needs of the innately potential Rural Youth who deprived of Higher Studies. This college is affiliated to Sri Krishna Devaraya University, Anantapur offers five different under graduate courses in Arts, Commerce and Sciences.
The achievements of this college are hampered by the un availability of suitable buildings, in sufficient infrastructure, inadequate equipment which often necessitated large classes, combined classes, limited Library use and limited extra curricular activities. The problem is even much more intense, considering the absence of opportunity to the poverties stricken and socially backward communities from which a majority of the students hail. With nearly 85% of the students coming from socially deprived, poor and backward communities, with insufficiency of infrastructural resources, the college had not been able to perform at its potential best.
