Centre for Marine Science and Technology is situated in the serine atmosphere surrounded by wetland in the north providing shelter for the long distance migratory birds from different parts of the world, estuary and coconut groove in the east and seashore in the south. Our Centre is recognized by DST, New Delhi for FIST program and UGC, New Delhi for Special assisted program. Our department is offering two Master’s degree programes (M.Sc Microbiology and M.Sc Marine Biotechnolgy), three M. Phil courses (M.Phil in Microbiology, Marine Biotechnology and Coastal Aquaculture) and an Innovative Programme on Planktonology (PG Diploma course for one year) funded by UGC, New Delhi The department is actively taking part in research in all the focal areas of marine science and about 50 research scholars are pursuing research in the frontier areas.
