James College of Education is a brainchild of James Memorial Charitable Trust which was started in the year 2005. It is recognized by the NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) and affiliated to the TNTEU (Tamil Nadu Teacher Education University). James College of Education offers B.Ed degree course with an annual intake of 100 students, M.Ed course with an annual intake of 35 students and M.Phil degree course with an annual intake of 12 students.
Library:The library is fully equipped with books relevant to B.Ed., M.Ed., and Research in education. It has open access system. It has educational CDs; bound volumes of journals, dissertations and proper facilities for seating of students, teaching staff and research scholars.
COMPUTER LABORATORY: The college has a computer lab with 20 computers. The teacher trainees are free to use the internet facilities for their studies.
PHYSICAL SCIENCE LABORATORY: The physical science laboratory of the college has a good collection of booth Physics and Chemistry working and static models, equipments, apparatus, and chemicals, required for high schools and higher secondary schools.
BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE LABORATORY: The college has a well equipped laboratory for biological science. The nature of Biology requires the active involvement of those who wish to teach it in carrying out investigations in the laboratory.
PSYCHOLOGY LABORATORY: The psychology lab is specially equipped with all the latest tests such as Intelligence Tests, Nonverbal Tests, Verbal Tests, Aptitude Tests, Personality Scales, Attitude Tests and Interest Inventories.
EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY LABORATORY: Educational technology lab has got the following items such as Over Head Projector (OHP), VCR, TV, epidiascope, slide projector and tape recorders, LCD projector.
Hostel Facility
Hostel facilities are available for men and women separately.
