Away from the din & bustle of town life, here lies the Naami College in a serene rural setting representing a symbolic and dynamic relationship between itself and the locality of three adjacent districts like, Keonjhar & Jajpur with ever 1500 students & 30 Lecturers at present the modest start of this institution with just 100 students and 5 lecturers seem almost incredible. But that is a fact and that was in the year 1978. The history of Naami College is an account of the triumph of some generous public-spirited gentle men of the locality whose untiring efforts & initiative could also help the birth of the institution possible. A very magnanimous donation of Sri Biju Pattnaik finally paved the way for the establishment of the college in concrete shape. The college was founded on the July 15, 1978 with only intermediate Arts class in the (Sri Sasadhar Chaulia) Mill Premises. In the year 1980, it was shifted to Naami M.E.School. Two years latter the location of the college was shifted to the present site area of about 15 acres.
