Central Institute of Classical Tamil (CICT) Chennai
Central Institute of Classical Tamil (CICT) Chennai, an Autonomous Institute, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, provides Doctoral Fellowships for eligible candidates. The aim of the award is to promote scholarship in Classical Tamil.
The Fellowship is for 2 years and will be paid a stipend of Rs 12,000/- per month with a contingency grant of Rs 12,000/- per annum.
Candidates should have registered for PhD in any recognized University or Institute.
Candidates should possess Postgraduate degree with not less than 55 marks in Literature, Linguistics, or allied disciplines such as Anthropology, Sociology, Education, Archaeology, Epigraphy, Musicology, Performing Arts, Folklore, Philosophy, etc.
SC/ST Candidates will be given a relaxation of 5 marks
Age Limit: The candidate should not have exceeded 30 years of age. Age relaxation 3 years will be allowed for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
The fellows will be selected through a written test followed by an interview. The decision of the Director, CICT is final in all matters related to the selection and award of Doctoral Fellowships including the number of fellowships to be given.
The selection is subject to the reservation policy as applicable

The completed application along with required documents may be sent to "The Registrar, Central Institute of Classical Tamil", IRT Campus, 100 Feet Road, Taramani, Chennai -600113
Applications without required enclosures will not be considered. If incorrect or false information is given, the Application will be summarily rejected.
