Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi provides Senior Academic Fellowships for Senior Scholars .

Fellowship Amount

This Fellowship is for 10 fellows and typically amounts to 44000/- per month with a contingency grant of 44000/- per annum. Fellowship is for a maximum period of 2 years and extended by 1 more year in special circumstances if recommended by the Research Projects Committee.

Eligibility Criteria :

Senior Fellowships are awarded to senior scholars who have done quality work and have publications in the form of books and papers in professional journals related to history to their credit.

Selection Process:

On the basis of the expert's assessment (if recommended), selected candidates shall be required to make a presentation for half an hour on the proposed subject of research.
The award of the Fellowship will be decided by a Committee of specialists, on the basis of the expert's evaluation of the proposal and the presentation made by the candidate.
The award of PDF will be through a presentation followed by interview to be hel d at ICHR offices and date & venue will be announced in the website .

Eligible and interested scholars may apply in prescribed application form. The candidates are requested to download the application form from our website (i.e. www.ichr.ac.in)
The applicant should attach self attested copies of the certificates of educational qualifications, date of birth, research experience and signed copy of check list etc., and to be sent by post to the

And also, soft copy /electronic copy should be sent through email (dd.res@ichr.ac.in) by last date
