Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST) at Mohali in Punjab has been established Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for talented persons. The aim of this fellowship is to provide a unique opportunity for persons with excellent credential and innovative mind to pursue research in Nano Science and Technology. INST is an autonomous institution focusing on R&D of specific areas in Nano Science and Technology leading to new phenomena, processes, products and devices.

Provisions

The Fellowship is for three years and reviewed annually.

The Fellowship typically amounts to Rs: 45,000/- per month and Rs 40,000/- as annual contingency grant. Candidates who have submitted the PhD thesis but are yet to be awarded the PhD degree, if selected, will be paid Rs 25,000/- per month till the award of the degree.

Eligibility Criteria :

The candidates should :

Have a PhD degree in Science or Engineering
PhD and background in Physics, Chemistry, Agriculture and Engineering aspects of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology are more preferred
Have submitted the PhD thesis with strong research interest in Nano Science and Technology
Proven research competence corresponding to their equivalents in the best institution of the world and should have a very good academic record

Age limit: 35 years of age as on 1st February of the coming year

self-attested copies of all testimonials
one page synopsis of PhD thesis
two-page write up of a suitable research proposal
a brief biodata

Candidates can sent the applications by email to postdoc@inst.ac.in which will be treated as advance copy. Two hard copies of the application will also have to be sent to the Director, Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Phase-X, Sector - 64, Mohali-160062 (Punjab), which should be reach the INST through Registered/Speed Post. The envelope containing the application should be superscribed as "Application for the Postdoctoral Research Fellowships-February". Incomplete applications or applications without requisite enclosures shall summarily be rejected

Selection

The candidates are shortlisted by the shortlisting committee by evaluating the applications .Shortlisted candidates will be called by a Selection Committee for interview for further assessment and at the time of the interview they should have to bring their original certificate (B.Sc., M.Sc., M.Tech, Ph.D, NOC from present employer).They should also be required to request three referees to sent their confidential evaluation directly to postdoc@inst.ac.in without which, the candidature shall be considered

Outstation candidates called for interview will be paid 2nd class railway (non-AC)/bus fare by the shortest route from the present address given in application form subject to production of tickets
