Malabar Cancer Centre, Thalassery offers Fellowship in Oncology Nutrition for those individuals who want to pursue their career in the field of Oncology Nutrition. These fellowships are to provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary training to individuals who are committed to a career in Nutrition & Oncology.
Malabar Cancer Centre is an autonomous institution under Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Kerala .This is being developed as a teaching institution to train doctors, nurses and other paramedical personnel in various fields of oncology. The concept of oncology is very much important for a proper management of cases, which inturn decides the quality management of cancer.
The aim of this unique Fellowship programme is to establish and encourage good nutrition practice and standards as an integral part of the cancer care provided. This is also expected to provide direction and leadership for quality oncology nutrition practice through education and research. The practice of oncology nutrition covers research, prevention, treatment, recovery, palliative care and hospice.
The fellowship training will provide a broad exposure to the full range of clinical/nutritional problems in oncology
Subjects covered:
Fellowship amount
Stipend of Rs.10, 000/- per month will be disbursed for non-sponsored candidates.
Fellowship candidates are encouraged to seek additional grants and sponsorship for any research projects that they may be a part of. Shared accommodation may be provided to the female candidates subject to availability. Male candidates have to make their own arrangements for accommodation.
Fellows will be expected to work in Dietary department during the course of the fellowship in the usual working hours
Duration
One year
Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Nutrition & related subjects with a minimum of 60% marks
Age: Candidates should be below 35 years as on 1st October (current year).
Selection Procedure
The selection will be based on on qualification and experience and performance in the written test and interview. No TA/DA will be paid for the Interview/Written test.
Claims in respect of Qualifications, Experience, etc. should be supported by copies of relevant documents; candidates may be required to produce the originals at the time of Written Test/Interview.
No TA/DA will be paid for the Interview/Written test.
