JNU admission 2025 to UG and PG courses will be on the basis of CUET (UG) Exam and CUET (PG) Exam scores respectively. MBA and Engineering courses admissions will be done through CAT Exam and JEE Main Exam respectively. Later, JNU will conduct counselling for various courses. You can check the respective exams for desired course admission in Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Admissions in Under Graduate / Post Graduate Programme of studies of Jawaharlal Nehru University for Academic Session 2025-26 will be as follows/under:-

Under graduate Programmes

1. Admission in B.A. (Hons.) in Foreign Languages, B.Sc. Programme in Ayurveda Biology and Certificate of Proficiency Programmes (COP) of Jawaharlal Nehru University for the Academic Year 2025-26 will be through CUET (UG) 2025.
2. Admission in B.Tech. Programme of Jawaharlal Nehru University for the Academic Year 2025-26 willbe through JEE Mains (JoSAA/DASA councelling)

Post Graduate Programmes

1. M.A., M.Sc., MCA, MPH, M.Tech. (except M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering & Electronics and Communication Engineering of School of Engineering), Post Graduate Diploma, Advanced Diploma Programmes will be through CUET (PG) 2025.
2. M.Sc. in Biotechnology and M.Sc. in Computational Biology Programme will be through GAT-B score. 3. MBA programme will be through CAT Score. 4. M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering & Electronics and Communication Engineering of School of Engineering will be through Centralized Counselling for M.Tech (CCMT).

IMPORTANT POINTS FOR ADMISSION THROUGH CUET (UG) AND CUET (PG) 2025

1. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) offers admissions in UG and COP Programmes (B.A. (Hons.) in Foreign Languages, B.Sc. Programme in Ayurveda Biology and Certificate of Proficiencey programmes) for academic session 2025-26 through Common Universities Entrance Test CUET (UG)-2025 in School of Language, Literature & Cultural Studies and in School of Sanskrit & Indic Studies.
Admissions in M.A., M.Sc., MCA, MPH, M.Tech. (except M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering & Electronics and Communication Engineering of School of Engineering), PG Diploma and Advanced Diploma Programmes for academic session 2025-26 through Common Universities Entrance Test CUET (PG)-2025.

2. Admissions to the above mentioned programmes at Sl No. 1 above shall be made through CUET (UG) / CUET (PG)-2025 respectively, to be conducted by NTA. Intending candidates are required to apply online for CUET (UG)-2025 / CUET (PG)-2025 on the official website of NTA ( https://cuet.nta.nic.in/ and https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-PG/ respectively).

3. Students desirous of admission in the UG/COP programmes in the university should satisfy themselves about their eligibility criteria and Subject/Tests prescribed for admission in these programmes as detailed in the e-Prospectus 2025-26 (kindly refer page 12 & 14 of the e-Prospectus).

4. Students not appearing in the prescribed Subjects/Tests for these programmes shall not be admitted in these programmes.

5. Admissions in these programmes shall be based on the performance of the candidates in CUET (UG)-2025 / CUET (PG)-2025 respectively, and deprivation points earned by the eligible candidates taken together.

6. The university gives deprivation points to the eligible candidates as applicable. No other deprivation points/weightage is available other than those mentioned in Section VI (Page 26 to 31/ Page 54) of the e-Prospectus.

7. Reservation Policy of Govt. of India shall be applicable to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS/PWD categories.

8. Syllabus for CUET (UG)  and CUET (PG) - 2025 will be available on the official website of the NTA, i.e.https://nta.ac.in or https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-PG/. Admission shall be given on the basis of performance of a candidate in Domain Knowledge paper only i.e. paper of concerned subject/s.

9. For admission in JNU, the candidates may apply SEPARATELY after the declaration of CUET (UG) / CUET (PG) – 2025 result.

10. Candidates are advised to regularly check the JNU website i.e. www.jnu.ac.in OR JNU admission link https://jnu.ac.in/admissions regularly for any notifications and updates.

Eligibility

Bachelors

Senior School Certificate (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognised Board/University with minimum of 45% marks. The candidates who are due to appear in Senior School Certificate (10+2) or equivalent examination are eligible to apply. Candidates who have obtained their Higher Secondary Certificate under the 10+1 pattern of education will be eligible for admission to the COP (Certificate of Proficiency) programmes if they have successfully completed the First-Year of Bachelor's degree examination of a University under 10+1+3 pattern of education with the prescribed percentage of marks, i.e., 45%.

The entrance test for this Bachelor programme is a common test for all languages. Candidates seeking admission to B.A. (Hons.) in JNU have to appear for CUET (UG) 2025. They are required to opt for English Test (Paper
Code 101) and General Aptitude Test (Paper Code 501) for the admission in JNU. Candidates who will not appear in both the subject, i.e. English Test (Paper Code 101) and General Aptitude Test (Paper Code 501), will not be considered for admission in JNU.

Masters

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 50% marks

M.Phil.

Candidates must have a master’s degree in the related subject with a minimum of 50% marks.

Ph.D

Only those candidates shall be considered for admission to the Ph.D. Programme who have –
(a) Obtained 2 years M.Phil Degree with at least 55% marks of a recognized University/Institution (with dissertation/seminar/viva) or one year M.Phil with 55% marks with additional one year research experience of a recognized University/Institution and one publication and 55% marks or equivalent in Master’s Degree/BE/B.Tech. OR
(b) Master’s Degree/BE/B.Tech with 55% marks or equivalent Grade ‘B’in UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent Grade in a point scale wherever Grading system is followed).

Age :

The minimum age to appear for the exam is 17 years.

Candidates can pay the application fee through debit card/credit card/internet banking or e-Challan of SBI bank. The application fee for JNUEE is non-refundable.

Certificates and documents required to be submitted by all candidates selected for admission to various programmes of study at the time of admission/registration

(i) Two copies of NTA CUET (UG) – 2025 score card.
(ii) Five sets of Pre-Enrolment Form
(iii) Eight copies of recent passport size photographs
(iv) Two sets of self-attested copies of the Matriculation, Higher secondary, Pre-University or Indian School Certificate or Senior School Certificate (10+2), or an equivalent examination certificate showing the age/date of birth of the candidate.
(v) A Character Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended
(vi) Two sets of self-attested copies of the statement of marks obtained by the candidate and passing certificate/degree of Senior School, Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree examination etc; or their equivalent examination
(vii) For SC/ST candidates: Two self-attested copies of SC/ ST certificate in the prescribed format in support of claim for admission against reserved quota. Candidates should bring original caste/ category certificate at the time of admission/ registration (Format is as given in Page No. 21 of the prospectus).
(viii) For OBC candidates: Two self-attested copies of OBC certificate along with recently issued OBC Non-creamy layer certificate. A candidate seeking admission under OBC-NCL category shall produce a valid certificate issued in the Financial Year 2025-26 in terms of DOPT Office Memorandum No.36036/2/2013-Estt. (Res-I) dated 31 March 2016 or as amended from time to time.
Candidates should bring original caste/ category certificate at the time of admission/ registration (Format is as given in Page No. 22 of the Prospectus).
(ix) For PwD candidates: Two copies of Disability certificate in the prescribed format issued by the Competent Medical Authority indicating the nature and extent (including percentage) of Physical Disability in support of their claim for admission against PWD quota. Candidate should bring original Disability as per Disability Act 2016 at the time of admission/ registration (Form No. V, VI and VII as given in Page No. 23, 24 & 25).
(x) For EWS candidates: Two copies of the Income and asset certificate to be certified by an officer not below the rank of Tehsildar in the States/UTs in the prescribed format as given in Page No. 20.
(xi) Migration Certificate (in original) from the Head of the Institution/University last attended:
a) All those candidates who have passed their qualifying examination prior to 2025 must produce the Migration Certificate from the University from where they have passed their qualifying examination at the time of admission/registration failing which they will not be granted admission.
b) Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination in 2025 and are not in a position to submit the Migration Certificate at the time of admission, should submit the same as early thereafter as possible, but not later than 30th October, 2025 failing which the University reserves the right to cancel their admission.
(xii) Candidates pursuing their studies with some other University/Institution are required to submit discontinuation certificate signed by appropriate authority from their respective University/Institution at the time of registration/admission, failing which admission shall not be granted. They are also required to submit the Migration Certificate subseequently within the stipulated time.
(xiii) Candidate submitting the internet downloaded mark sheets are advised to submit/produce the final mark sheet with due authentication/signatures of Competent Authority of their respective university/institution.
(xiv) The admission of candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from a Foreign University will be subject to their qualification being found equivalent to the qualifications prescribed by the University.
(xv) The candidates, enjoying employed status and selected for admission to any programme of study in the University, are required to produce LEAVE SANCTION ORDER/RELIEVING ORDER AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION/ REGISTRATION from their employer for the duration of the programme permitting them to pursue their studies at the University, failing which the offer of admission
shall stand withdrawn. In case of resignation, the candidates are required to submit Relieving Order from their employer at the time of admission/registration.
(xvi) Online payment while filling up the pre-enrolment portal for accepting the offer of admission:
(xvii) Following documents will be submitted by the candidate (in original) at the Admission Counter while taking admission/registration: c) Provisional Certificate of the qualifying examination, d) Migration certificate e) Character Certificate f) Anti-ragging undertaking g) Discontinuation certificate (xviii) All the selected candidates have to upload the necessary certificates in the pre-enrolment portal while accepting the offer of admission.
Important: The candidates, will be allowed to register only IN PERSON. No request for registration other than in person shall be accepted. The candidates are also required to produce all originals of the above certificates/documents for verification at the time of registration/admission. In the absence of any of the original certificates/documents, registration/admission shall not be allowed.
