Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET) is an autonomous body, established by Ministry Of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) and fully funded by the Govt. of India. The institute awards its own certificates and Diplomas approved and recognized by AICTE, New Delhi. Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses are affiliated to Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar. Ph.D. programmes have also been started in collaboration with PTU and other neighboring Universities. The admission to all the courses in Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology are through a National Level SLIET Entrance Test (SET).
The Entrance Tests conducted for admission to Certificate, Diploma, Degree and PG Programme is termed as SLIET Entrance Test-I (SET-I), SLIET Entrance Test-II (SET-II), SLIET Entrance Test-III (SET-III) and SLIET Entrance Test-VI (SET-VI), respectively. Besides these, Entrance Test named SLIET Entrance Test-IV (SET-IV) and SLIET Entrance Test-V (SET-V) are also conducted for admission to Vertical Entry seats of Diploma Programme and Degree Programme respectively for SLIET students.
