The Karnataka Private Medical and Dental Colleges Association, in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students seeking admission to the member institutions, have formed 'Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka' (COMEDK). Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K) Undergraduate Entrance Test (COMEDK UGET) is a competitive entrance test for students seeking their admission to various undergraduate level programs in the fields of medical, dental and engineering colleges in Karnataka. The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka is popularly known as the COMEDK among students.

The COMEDK UGET test scores are valid only for admissions during the academic year of entrance examination. The COMEDK entrance test is mandatory for candidates seeking admissions for the Under-Graduate courses in Comdek Member Institutions. The candidates are selected on the basis of merit list of the entrance test, which is followed by the single-window centralized counseling.
