The Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination (TBJEE) was set up by Higher Education Department by framing the Examination Regulation Part- I of Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination has been amended from time to time by the Government. The Board, an organization of Directorate of Higher Education, is constituted by the Government every year.
The Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination consists of ten officials including the Chairman, the Member-Secretary (Administration), the Member-Secretary (Academic) and other seven members representing various departments. Five members are incorporated in the Board from five sponsoring departments. These are Deptt. of Medical Education, Deptt. of Agriculture, Deptt. of Fisheries and Deptt. of Animal Resource Development and also the Department of Higher Education. Two other members are nominated, one each from ST Welfare and SC & OBC Welfare. The tenth honorary member is the Secretary of Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Govt. of Tripura.
The Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination conducts the Joint Entrance Examination at eight centre / venues of Agartala, Udaipur, Kailashahar and Dharmanagar for admission of students in Engineering, Medical *, Technological and other professional degree courses against seats reserved for the state of Tripura and also the seats of different State Institutions.
(* - It is for general information of all concerned that in an interim order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, all the States have been asked to conduct their respective examinations in MBBS & BDS of UG and PG courses. In view of this, it has been decided by the State Government to go by the above direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court and requested the Board to conduct Tripura Joint Entrance Examination for selection of candidates for admission to MBBS & BDS for the present academic year but not to declare the results for the same, until further direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India is received. It is also for information of all concerned that the examination (TJEE) proposed above shall in no way affect the NEET- examination which would be conducted by the Government of India for selection of students for admission to MBBS & BDS courses i.e. interested students shall have to appear in both the examinations.
