Tripura Joint Entrance Examination (TJEE) : Application Procedure

The Application Form and Prospectus can be  obtained from counter of the office of the TBJEE (2nd Gate, Ground Floor, Tripura Board of Secondary Education, Gurkhabasti)  or  from the Care Taker Unit, Directorate of Higher Education, (Old Secretariat Building, Akhaura Road, Agartala) on all working days during the admission period on payment of a requisite amount. It can be also obtained by postal request from the office of the Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination by sending Postal Order of a requisite amount per Form & Prospectus in favour of TRIPURA BOARD OF JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION, payable at Agartala Head Post Office. All postal requests must be accompanied with a self - addressed envelope of 30 cm x 13 cm size and a postage stamp of Rs.5/- affixed on it. 

Application Form, Prospectus and e-challan can also be downloaded from website www.tbjee.nic.in and will also be accepted the filled in Application Form provided the applicant makes the payment cash and deposits the respective examination fees through e-challan along with the other charges, if any, at any branch of State Bank of India and submit the e-challan (Board’s part) at the time of submission of Application Form in addition to the other necessary enclosures.

Candidates have to deposit their Examination fees through prescribed e-challan supplied by TBJEE at any branch of State Bank of India. In that case they have to deposit bank commission / other charges in addition to the amount of Examination fees. But if the Examination fees are deposited through e-challan at SBI, Agartala (Melarmath) Branch, there is no need to give exchange fees / commission / service charges etc.

Selection

The Board shall publish a Merit list on the basis of the merit. This list include the candidate who will qualify in the examination as per criteria fixed by the Board on consideration of all the aspects. It will be published through various media including Board’s website. Five separate lists will be prepared from following five categories, such as, (a) Unreserved Category (UR), (b) Schedule Caste (SC), (c) Scheduled Tribe (ST), (d) Ward of Ex-Servicemen (EX), and (e) Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates. The Board does not keep any provision for post publication review at any stage and so will not entertain any such application in this regard. The Merit list of un-reserved category has been prepared on the basis of overall performance of all candidates.

The Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in the subjects, Physics (P), Chemistry (C), Mathematics (M), Biology (B) as per his/her option. For example, for a candidate, who opted for PCM group, Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics will be considered; while for PCB group, Physics, Chemistry & Biology will be judged. In case of tie following successive steps will be adopted as per norms:

PCM GROUP PCB GROUP
Step - 1  P+C+M P+C+B
If tie occurs, then
Step - 2  P+M C+B
If further tie occurs, then
Step - 3  B
If further tie occurs, then finally
Step - 4 DOB DOB

Here, DOB means the Date of Birth of a candidate. Senior will be given the preference in merit position as per norms.

Allotment of Seats through Counseling

Seats of different professional degree courses are received from various sponsoring departments. These seats are usually reserved by the Govt. of India and the other central agencies for the state of Tripura. Beside these, other seats are provided by State Institutions. The Board allots those seats amongst the eligible candidates through the 1st round of Counseling. After getting selection through the process of counseling the selected candidates will be nominated for admission in different degree course by respective sponsoring department.

The Board conducts FIRST ROUND of counseling. Successive round of counseling would be conducted by the concerned department sponsoring such seats. As regard counseling of technical seats, the Department of Higher Education shall conduct further counseling.

Following are the important points to be noticed regarding the general process of counseling :

a) No Candidate will be considered for allotment of any seat unless he/she appears personally before the Board at the time of Counseling.

b) It is to be noted that the selection of candidates for a particular course to a certain College/University will be subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria, including the cut-off marks in Tripura Joint Entrance Examination, if any, of the respective College/University.

c) Certain College and University stipulate specific percentage of marks in last qualifying Examination (H.S. or equivalent) and some other conditions including cut-off marks, if any, for admission/entry to different streams/subjects of respective Colleges and Universities. Accordingly, selection will be made on the basis of Eligibility Criteria and cut-off marks, if any, obtained in Tripura Joint Entrance Examination as specified by the respective departments of State & Central Governments/ Institution/ Council/ Body.

d) Candidates will be issued nomination letters for various courses of study on the basis of their performances in the Tripura Joint Entrance Examination. For issuing of nomination letters a programme will be fixed for FIRST ROUND OF COUNSELING. During that time verification of all original certificates, will be done. So, the candidates will have to present themselves with all Certificates in ORIGINAL.

e) Allotment of vacant seats, if any, under any category will be filled up by applying Method of Exchange as per Govt. Rules.

f) Spot Computerized Counseling may be done during the First Round of Counseling.

g) There will no wait list of the candidatges at the time of counseling. In successive occasions, fresh counseling will be held as per procedure.

h) No separate call letter will be issued to any Candidate.

i) If a Candidate is allotted a seat this year or in the past inside or outside the State on the basis of result of Tripura Joint Entrance Examination, he/she will not be considered for allotment of seats unless he/she has surrendered the allotted seat in writing within the specified time to the appropriate authority and produce the necessary proof for that at the time of Counseling.

j) The total programme (including date, time, venue etc.) will be published in the leading Dailies/A.I.R./Electronic Media including our website : www.tbjee,nic.in
