Vector Control Research Centre (VCRC)established in Puducherry in July 1975, is one of the permanent institutes under the Indian Council of Medical Research, Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi. VCRC has been engaged in basic and applied research with the primary objective of finding newer methods and developing strategies for the control of vectors and vector borne diseases. The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated the VCRC as a collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Lymphatic filariasis and Integrated Methods of Vector Control. It is recognized as a centre of excellence for research and training in vector-borne diseases and control by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India.

1 .	M.Sc. Public Health Entomology
	Eligibility Candidates who have obtained a degree in Science of any recognized University, accepted as equivalent by the academic council of the Pondicherry University, Puducherry with any of the specified groups of options viz., B.Sc., (Zoology/Botany/Life Sciences/Medical Laboratory Technology/Microbiology/Biochemistry), B.V.Sc., M.B.B.S., or B.E.,/B.Tech., degree with Biotechnology as one of the subjects, are eligible. A minimum of 50% marks for General/Unreserved/OBC and 40% for SC/ST candidates in their Graduate Degree examination is essential to apply.M.Sc., Public Health Entomology.
	Duration 2years
	Admission Procedure The entrance test will be of objective type for two-hours duration at the graduate level in the field of Life Sciences (Zoology, Microbiology, Botany, Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Medical Laboratory Technology).

	No. of Seats 12,Sixty percent of seats will be filled through competitive examination and the remaining 40 percent, through nominations/sponsorship by Indian (20%) & Foreign (20%) organizations/institutions.
