Barama College, the premier institute of higher education in the vast Baksa area came into being on the eve of 5th Feb 1971. It is situated at a distance of 85 km away from the alma mater GU and 35 km. away to the north of the foothill of Bhutan, The co-educational institution had started its glorious journey of imparting education with one year pre- university programme in Arts at Barama High School premises. It was in 1973, the College was shifted to its present permanent site and in the same year Bachelor of Arts programme was introduced to synchronize the development of the stream.
Library: Within the college campus, Barama College provides library facilities of the Open Access nature, allowing students and employees/readers to use the library book for the purpose of study. The facility of reading inside the library is also available. The library is equipped with nearly thirty one thousand books including reference books, valuable journals and daily news papers. The library provides computer and Xerox machine facilities to the students.
Canteen: The college canteen provides refreshments for the staff and students at a reasonable rate with moderate atmosphere..
Water Supply: Purified drinking water facility is available for all in the college.
Hostel Facility
Hostel facilities with limited seats are available inside the college campus. Hostel seats are allotted at the time of admission on merit basis and necessity.
