Gyanpeeth Degree College- a premier co-educational institution of higher education, located at Nikashi in the Indo-Bhutan Border area of Baksa district under B.T.A.D., Assam was established by the general public of the locality with the sacred aim of fulfilling the dreams of higher education of the aspiring students in particular and the society in general. The college has been playing a pivotal role in imparting higher education in Arts stream since its inception in 1993.Back to part, a public meeting held in 1991 constituted a strong Governing Body comprising Sri Dayananda Bhandary as its president and Late Prasanna Sarma as Secretary for performing preliminary functions.
