University of Southampton Great Scholarships - The University of Southampton, in collaboration with the British Council India, provides ‘GREAT Scholarships’ for Indian students for pursuing taught Masters degree programmes at Southampton.

Subjects covered

Social Sciences (Economics, Social Statistics, Demography, Global Health, Gerontology, Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology, Political Sciences and International Relations)

Scholarship Details:

University offers TWO scholarships , which will cover for full tuition fee for taught Masters degree programme for the following discipline/subject areas within the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate must be an Indian national residing in India and considering to submit a fresh application to any relevant degree programme starting in September of the current year. Those who currently hold a conditional or unconditional offer to any of the following taught Masters programme are also eligible. Please note the scheme is not available for those who are in receipt of any funding either from Southampton or any external funding body.

Selection Procedure

Applications are initially scrutinized by Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Chair.
Thereafter,the meritorious proposals from the eligible applications are short listed by the Monitoring Committee of the Chair
Short listed applicants would then be invited for an interaction/presentation at the Office of Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences before an Expert Committee.
Post interaction recommendations of the Expert Committee will be placed before the Academic/ Development Section of the University for its final approval

Candidates can submit the application first through the University Postgraduate Admissions System https://www.southampton.ac.uk/courses/taught - postgraduate.page and then forward the application reference number to FSHMS-Partnerships@soton.ac.uk
