Govt. of India, Ministry of Science and Technology, Dept. of Biotechnology provides Tata Innovation Fellowship for Indian nationals for pursuing research in frontier areas of Biotechnology and Applied Biology. Tata Innovation Fellowship is a highly competitive scheme to recognize and reward scientists with outstanding track record in biological sciences and a deep commitment to find innovative solutions to major problems in healthcare, agriculture and other areas related to life sciences and biotechnology.

Provisions

The Fellowship is provided for five fellows per year.

The Fellowship is for 3 years and extended to 2 more years on a fresh appraisal.  Fellows will be paid a stipend of Rs 25,000/- per month in addition to regular salary from the host institute. In addition, each Fellow will receive a contingency grant of Rs 6.00 lakh per annum for meeting the expenses on consumables, equipment international and domestic travel, manpower and other contingent expenditure to be incurred in connection with the implementation of ongoing research project under the fellowship.

The fellowship is co-terminus with teh superannuation of fellow in his organization.
