Directorate of School Education, Puducherry offers National Talent Search Examination for Class X students studying in State / Central Government recognized schools.

The first stage National Talent Search (NTS) Written Examination (State Level) is conducted by the Directorate of School Education, Puducherry launched by the MHRD, New Delhi in order to identify the talented students and nurture them. Then, based on the merit list of this written examination 10 students [8-General, 2-SC(origin)] allotted to our State will be eligible to participate in the Second Stage written examination (National Level) conducted by the NCERT, New Delhi.

The students selected in the Second Stage Written Examination (National Level) conducted by the NCERT, New Delhi will receive scholarship from the NCERT, New Delhi.

Scholarship Details

The Government of Puducherry awards 5,000/- for the students selected in the State Level Examination and 10,000/- for students selected in the National Level Examination as one time incentive.

Eligibility Criteria

All students of Class X studying in State / Central Government recognized schools are eligible.
The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) awardees are also eligible.
The National Talent Search (NTS) Scholarship awardees are not eligible.

Examination Pattern

This examination consists of two parts namely PART - I and PART - II.
Separate question booklets will be provided for Part - I and Part - II.
All questions are to be answered.

Mental Ability Test (MAT)

Duration of the examination : 9.00 AM - 11.00 AM

Part 11

Scholastic Aptitutde Test (SAT)
Mathematics - 20 questions (Maximum Marks- 20)
Science - 40 questions2024 (Maximum Marks- 40)
Social Science : 40 questions2024 (Maximum Marks- 40)
Duration of the examination : 11.15 AM - 1.15 PM

Syllabus:

The whole portions of class IX and portions upto December of Class X in Language - I, Language – II, Mathematics, Science and Social Science subject of State Board Syllabus.

Application & Selection Process

Documents required

2024A Photo duly attested by the Head of the School should be pasted on the space provided in the Application Form.

2024Hall Ticket will be sent to the candidates through their school. Affix passport size photo and get it attested from the Head of the School .

2024Reach the Examination Centre atleast Half-an-hour before the commencement of the Examination and occupy the seat that bears your Register Number.

2024Do not take Calculator, Clarke’s Table or any kind of ready reckoner to the Examination Hall.

2024Write your Register Number, as given in the Hall Ticket on the OMR Sheet and on the cover page of the Question Booklets in the space provided.

2024DO NOT Write your name in any part of the Question Booklet or the OMR Sheet.

2024Follow the instructions of the Invigilator strictly during the Examination.
