Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore Summer Fellowship in Science and Engineering

Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore Provides Summer Fellowship in Science and Engineering only for SC/ST Students. Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is a premier university for scientific research and higher education located in Bangalore. The aim of the fellowship is to encourage bright young school and undergraduate students to undertake research careers.

Provisions

The fellows will be paid a stipend of Rs.5000/- and a book grant of Rs.1500/- Features of the Program. IISc will also provide Traveling allowance equivalent to II Class (sleeper) train fare from nearest station College/residence to IISc and back. Free boarding and lodging (on sharing basis) at IISc.

Eligibility Criteria :

SC/ST Students studying Ist year M.Sc in science disciplines (Biological, Physical, Chemical and Mathematical Sciences) or IIIrd year B.E./B.Tech or equivalent degree are eligible.

Selection Procedure

IISc will evolve a suitable criterion for selecting the candidates for the program. In order to learn various techniques used in research the selected candidates will work with the IISc faculty members for a period of one month during June-July.

Candidates can submit the online application form available at the institute website www.iisc.ernet.in. Candidate should take a print out of the application after submitting online application and affix a latest passport size color photograph at identified place and forward to the address "The Assistant Registrar (Academic), Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore-560012". They should also super-scribing on the envelop as “IISc Summer Fellowship in Science and Engineering for SC/ST Students-(write the current year).
