Research fellow to carry out the research in frontier area of
Optoelectronics leading to Ph.D
Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) an autonomous institution under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Kerala has established ‘Partnering Academic Industrial Research (PAIR)’ program for establishing partnership in high quality collaborative research between R&D institutions, academia and industry. In this connection, Vinvish Technologies Pvt. Ltd, a premier DSIR approved company in the development of advanced opto-electronic systems oin hands with CSIR-NIIST(National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram ) and KSCSTE are partnering for a joint research Fellow program in frontier area of Optoelectronics leading to Ph.D.
The research fellow can carry out
the research jointly in CSIR NIIST/ Vinvish Technologies (P) Ltd, with
research advisors being drawn from each of these institutions. The candidate
shall register for
PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) during the scheme with a Mentor
from CSIR NIIST as per the research requirement of the industry. An Advisory
Committee comprising of eminent academicians, industrialists and scientists
will be constituted for monitoring the research programme of the candidate.
It includes mentor from the research institute, Dean/Research Co-ordinator of
the Institute, expert nominated by the Industry, subject expert (external
member) nominated by KSCSTE and official from KSCSTE.
The research fellow after submitting the PhD thesis, shall be appointed as an intern at the sponsoring industry with the possibility of subsequently being absorbed as permanent staff. A service agreement between the industry and the research fellow shall be executed separately, monitored by KSCSTE.
Provisions
The Fellowship is for three years‚ which can be extended to another six months, subject to the recommendation of the Advisory Committee.
Fellowship is awarded for only one fellow and typically amounts to Rs: 30,000/- per month + 10% HRA for first two years and Rs. 35,000/-p.m. + 10% HRA for third year.
The candidates should be:
UGC-NET/JRF OR UGC-CSIR NET/JRF OR GATE OR KSCSTE Research Fellowship OR other research fellowships of Central and State Government departments/agencies
Desirable Qualification : Age limit: 30 years (a relaxation of maximum 2 years will be allowed for candidates with highly meritorious background)
The age limit will be calculated as on 1st July
Selection
The candidates will be selected based on the written test/interview, which
will be held at KSCSTE. The candidate selected shall enroll for fulltime
Ph.D at University of Kerala. After the submission of
Ph.D. Thesis, the
candidate will be appointed as an intern at the sponsoring industry with
the possibility of subsequently being absorbed as permanent staff. The
candidate is expected to serve the industry for a minimum period of two
