Malabar Cancer Centre, Thalassery offers institutional Fellowship in Oral Oncology for surgeons to pursue their professional career in the field of oral oncology. Malabar Cancer Centre is an autonomous institution under Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Kerala. Malabar Cancer Centre has been giving training in head and neck surgery for the last 6 years. Hence, it would be better to separate the training for MDS in maxillofacial surgery students and restrict them to oral oncology only.
The aim is to provide the training foundation for surgeons dedicated to careers in oral oncology through training in the areas of interdisciplinary management, complex oral oncologic surgery and research. This additional expertise emphasises critical analysis of clinical problems and development of additional skills in the performance of techniques required for the practice of the subspecialty, including consultation skills and multidisciplinary treatment planning, with emphasis in basic and clinical research methodologies.

Two candidates will be selected per year for the course.
Fellowship amount
Stipend of Rs.47, 000/ - per month for the first year and Rs.48, 000/- per month for the second year will be disbursed for non - sponsored candidates.
The candidate would spend at least 11 months in the Surgical Oncology unit. A rotation of one month in medical and radiation oncology departments, community medicine and palliative medicine department
Duration
Two year
Age: Candidates should not be above 40 years as on 1st October (current year).
Selection Procedure
The selection will be based on written Test/Personal interview.
No TA/DA will be paid for the Interview/Written test.
Claims in respect of Qualifications, Experience, etc. should be supported by copies of relevant documents; candidates may be required to produce the originals at the time of Written Test/Interview.
