Malabar Cancer Centre (MCC) Thalassery offers  Hemato-Oncology & BMT Fellowship  for candidates having an MD/DNB degree in General Medicine or Pediatrics & MD degree in Transfusion Medicine or Pathology to pursue their professional career in the field of hemato oncology.

Malabar Cancer Centre is an autonomous institution under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Kerala. This is being developed as a teaching institution to train doctors, nurses and other paramedical personnel in various fields of oncology.

MCC caters patient population from northern districts of Kerala and the neighboring states. Clinical hematology department was started in MCC in December 2010. At present the department manages a reasonably good number of patients in the outpatient clinic and equal number of patients in the inpatient unit, majority of whom are admitted for intensive chemotherapy. Adding an important landmark to MCC’s history, BMT program was initiated in July 2013. Thereafter MCC has been performing BMTs on regular basis.

The aim is to provide the training foundation for those individuals who want to pursue their professional career in the field of hemato oncology . This additional expertise emphasizes critical analysis of clinical problems and development of additional skills required for the practice of this specialty, including consultation skills and multidisciplinary treatment planning, with emphasis in basic and clinical research methodologies.

It has another great vision of providing more expert hematology specialists to the society in order to provide a better quality management of disease for the people even in the lower levels of community.

Fellowship amount

SStipend of Rs.47, 000/ - per month will be disbursed for non - sponsored candidates.

The candidates will be full time residents of the institution and will perform the duties and responsibilities of a full time physician in the department of Clinical Hematology.

Duration

One year 

Eligibility Criteria :

Age: Candidates should not be above 35 years as on 1st June (current year).

Selection Procedure

The selection will be based on written Test/Personal interview. Two candidates will be selected per year for the course.

No TA/DA will be paid for the Interview/Written test.
