Vidya Poshak provides Nurture Merit Financial Assistance for financially challenged meritorious students from SSLC/Class10 Completed students aspiring to join Commerce, Arts, Education in PUC 1styear & Diploma, ITI, GTTC.

Vidya Poshak, India is a registered Non-Government Organization (NGO), serving education community. The organization was started by a group of compassionate people in the year 2001 at Dharwad, Karnataka with the aim of supporting financially challenged bright students.

Nurture Merit Program includes Financial Assistance, Library/Book Bank facilities and Residential Bridge Camp. The mission is to provide financial assistance to meritorious students who cannot afford to continue their higher education owing to their financial difficulties.

Eligibility Criteria

Should have appeared for the SSLC examination for the first time in March/April (Current year)
The applicant should have scored at least 80% in the SSLC Karnataka board/CBSE examination.
Aspiring to join Commerce, Arts, Education in PUC 1st year & Diploma, ITI, GTTC
Total family income should be less than Rs.80,000/-per annum
Parents of the applicant should be resident of one of the following districts of Karnataka
(Please note that applicants from only the taluks’ mentioned in the vidya Poshak website are eligible to apply)

Note: Students joining science stream i n 1s t year PUC are not eligible to apply for the Vidya Poshak financial assistance.

Selection Process

Based on the 10th class results, students are short-listed for home visits to assess the extent of financial difficulty. Thereafter depending on the merit and home visit reports, the final list of eligible students will be prepared for assisting them with scholarship, books and training. The facilitators with the help of local volunteers and well wishers will organise the financial assistance disbursement programmes in selected locations.

Vidya Poshak’s operations depend on the availability of the volunteers for the year (current year) . Therefore new applications will be entertained only from selected districts/taluks in Karnataka. Application Process

Applicants should download the application form from the Vidya Poshak website (www.vidyaposhak.ngo) and fill in all the relevant information, attach supporting document/s (Marks card copy) and post it to the nearest Vidya Poshak office.
