Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) offers Netaji Subhas –ICAR International Fellowships for the Indian as well as overseas nationals for Pursuing Doctoral degree in Agriculture and Allied Sciences for the "Netaji Subhas - ICAR International Fellowships (NS ICAR IFs) in the identified priority areas, to the (i) Indian candidates for study abroad in the identified overseas Universities/Institutions having strong research and teaching capabilities and (ii) to overseas candidates for study in the Indian Agricultural Universities (AUs) in the ICAR-AUs system.

Objectives
In its continued efforts towards enhancing and sustaining the standards, quality and relevance of higher agricultural education in the country, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) here-in-after, referred as the Council, has instituted International Fellowships with dual purpose of (i) human resource development in cutting edge technologies, and (ii) demonstrating the strength of Indian agricultural system abroad.

Crop Sciences; Horticulture; Biotechnology and Nanotechnology; Animal Sciences; Natural Resource Management; Agricultural Engineering and Fisheries

Provisions

The Fellowship is for 3 years for 30 fellows available every year for a Program leading to PhD degree; the allocation of fellowships between Indian and Overseas candidates will depend upon the availability of good candidates in the identified priority areas

The Indian fellows going abroad will receive a Monthly stipend of US $ 2,000/- and Yearly stipend of US $ 1,000/-  for 12 months as lump-sum payments towards contingent and preparatory expenses. Overseas fellows in India will receive a Monthly stipend of Rs 40,000/- and Yearly stipend of Rs 25,000/- as lump-sum payments towards contingent and preparatory expenses.

Payment of Fee
All fees chargeable by the host institution where the fellow is enrolled will be by the fellow himself out of the fellowship grant or from his/her own resources.

Eligibility:

A review committee set up by CEPT University will evaluate all applications and select candidates for final offers of fellowship. Apart from academic qualifications, experience of candidates in professional practice, teaching and research will be considered & evaluated by the committee. 

Medical Fitness
Selected fellow would be required to get his/ her medical fitness test and medical insurance done at his/her own cost.
