Directorate of Teacher Education and SCERT provides National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination  for V111 Standard Students in any recognized school in the State of Odisha in Government/Government Aided/Urban Local Body Schools.

The Directorate of Teacher Education and SCERT came into existence as an independent Directorate on January 15, 1990.It progressively acquired its present status from the State Institute of Education,established in 1964 to State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in 1979, and from SCERT to TE and SCERT in 1990.

Scholarship Details

Scholarships are awarded for 3314 candidates (30 districts). They receive the Scholarship of Rs.1000/- per month  for 4 years (class 1X -X1) according to academic progress.

Eligibility Criteria

The students studying in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and Residential Schools under ST and SC Development Department, KGBV etc. where all expenses are paid are not eligible for the scholarship.

Selection Process

The candidates will be selected on the basis of entrance examination marks (40% marks)

Examination Pattern 

Duration of the examination : 90 minutes.

Candidates can apply online through official website of Directorate of Teacher Education and SCERT  through http://scertodisha.nic.in

Candidates should submit the printed copy of online registered Application Form along with the documents to the concerned school/ institution .The head of the school/ institution shall forward it to the concerned District Educational Officer.

District Educational Officer scrutanize and verify the documents and validate the application form.
