Velammal's State Level Science Talent Search Examination is a talent search exam for class 1-12 students in Maths and science. The exam is conducted annually by Velammal Educational Trust of Tamil Nadu for the students residing in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The Velammal's State Level Science Talent Search Exam gives the students a potent potion of Science as fun and entertaining. The aptitude quest's lethal charm has attracted over 1,20,000 besotted participants over the years vying to snatch prizes worth INR 3.95 lakhs besides 5200 consolation prizes.

The objective of the scholarship test is to identify students with potential to study and support them with cash rewards. The total scholarship prize on offer is Rs 4 lakhs across 6 different levels.

Eligibility Criteria

The students of classes I to XII of all boards studying in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are eligible to participate.

The examination is conducted in 6 different levels.

Level - I : Class 1 and 2
Level - II : Class 3 and 4
Level - III : Class 5 and 6
Level - IV : Class 7 and 8
Level - V : Class 9 and 10
Level - VI : Class 11 and 12

Only Bonafide students of schools are eligible to take up the exam.
Interested Students can apply through the concerned school Principal / HM

Application & Selection Process

The registrations start each year by September and close early October. Student can apply through the concerned school Principal / HM

There would be two round of test

Preliminary Test
Final Examination

The participating school will be the venue for the preliminary round of the exam. The Head of the Institution ( H.M.) will be the Chief Co-ordinator for the Velammal's State Level Science Talent Search Exam (Preliminary round). The question papers for the preliminary round will be sent to the respective schools before the exam. There is a fixed date for the preliminary examination and the school which violates this rule will be disqualified.

After conducting the exam, the coding sheets have to be evaluated by the concerned school with the help of the answer key provided with the question papers.

Exam Pattern

The question paper contains 100 questions and 20 additional questions. The duration of the test is 90 minutes. Questions asked are based on the Maths and Science syllabus followed in schools. The medium of examination will be English.

Participants of Level I (Std. I & II) will answer only 75 questions. In the event of a tie, the winner will be selected, based on the number of additional questions attempted and solved correctly.

For each question there are five suggested answers. Mark “X” in the box provided under the choices A, B, C,D and E for the correct answer in the coding sheet.

Note:

Mark only one answer for each question.
Ball point pen (black / blue) should be used for marking the answers.
Rough work should be done only in the space provided in the question paper.
Each correct answer carries one mark.
Students can take the question paper home after the completion of the test for their reference.
Entries must reach the organiser only through the concerned school Principal/ HM.

The best one out of 25 will qualify for the Final round of exam to be held at the Regional Headquarters

Entrants to the Final Round will receive a prize
All the participants will be given Participation Certificates.
The participants of the schools governed by our Trust are not eligible for prizes I - X.
The prize winners will be honoured with special prizes.
